The NCAC (previously known as the Nambucca Entertainment Centre - NEC) itself is a historic building which dates from 1896. It was originally called ‘The School of Arts”. Following a fire in 1937 there was substantial re-building and the facade was constructed in its present “Art Deco ” style. The gallery section of the building was added to commemorate the Bicentennial Year in 1988.

Membership of the Nambucca Valley Arts Council is open to artists and non artists alike and members are encouraged to take part in duty sessions in the gallery.

All work in the gallery is for sale and lay-by facilities are always available. A range of greetings cards made by local artists are also on display.
