About the Nambucca Valley Arts Council (NVAC)
The Nambucca Valley Arts Council (NVAC) has been serving residents and visitors to the Nambucca Valley for many years. The organisation promotes several concerts each year featuring a variety of performing artists and groups.
NVAC also supports many other community groups who are involved in a vast array or artistic pursuits including art fairs and art workshops.
In 2015 the Nambucca Valley Arts Council received the Shire Council’s Cultural Award which was presented on Australia Day. This was a great honour for us and we feel reflects the work we do to promote the Arts in our area and the encouragement and support we give to others to develop their creative pursuits.
The Stringer Gallery is run by NVAC and is located within the Nambucca Community and Arts Centre (NCAC) in Ridge Street, Nambucca Heads between the Post Office and the Town Library. Paintings from local artists are always on display and may be purchased for very reasonable sums.
Each month we feature our Artist of the Month and we conduct an art exhibition every two years. Please see our Events page for details.
If you are visiting Nambucca Heads, Macksville, Valla Beach, Scotts Head or Bowraville you should make sure you visit the Stringer Gallery to view the paintings and check the latest program of art events in the Nambucca Valley. Art works which have recently been on display in our exhibitions are shown below.
