Olympic torch relay through Nambucca Valley - 25 Aug 2000

A festive atmosphere and superb winter weather put everybody
into a party mood whilst awaiting the Torch's arrival in the Valley

"This is a great vantage point but if it doesn't arrive
here soon I won't be in condition to see a thing!"

Representatives of our local aboriginal communities
enjoyed some jokes with The Nambucca Web's
photographer. The Community radio station was
also on hand to provide an outside broadcast.

We weren't  sure whether these excited gals were wearing
Australia's green and gold colours or whether they were
being sponsored by BP Petroleum (see background)

The residents of Riverside Gardens Retirement Village
were ideally placed to see the Torch pass the complex
